Redesigned New Employee Orientation – Starting Monday, October 28, 2019

HR’s Learning and Organizational Development is excited to announce that we have redesigned our Staff New Employee Orientation. We have listened to feedback from staff and have updated our orientation to be more engaging and to emphasize the culture and history of ECU. Attached is a copy of the new agenda for the day. The first session of our updated New Employee Orientation will be held on Monday, October 28, 2019. We are looking forward to providing our new employees with a fun and informational welcome to Pirate Nation!

Below are some of the changes that we’ve made to enhance our orientation process:

  • ECU Human Resources providing lunch at one of the campus dining halls.
  • Bus tour of East Campus, West Campus, and Athletics.
  • Increased focus on the history and culture of ECU.
  • New start time of 10:00 a.m. allowing employees to meet with their supervisors before attending.
  • New Employee Website that provides all the information that a new employee needs before they attend orientation – newemployee.ecu.edu.
